Visiting a ‘Dental Fear’ Clinic Can Help Improve a Child’s Smile

If the sound of a dental drill sends shivers up your spine, you are probably in good organization: Finnish researchers say that a single of every two grown ups fear the dentist at least a little, though one in 10 are very fearful.

But the scientists included that a neighborhood dentistry system has observed a novel way to change screams into smiles, by exposing individuals as youthful as 2 to a sequence of desensitizing exams that pair dental care with a wide wide range of anxiety-minimizing approaches.

The method is primarily based in the modest central Finland city of Oulu. Oulu is home to about 200,000 Finns, and now the “Clinic for Fearful Dental Clients.”
